As we come to the end of the spring term, Mrs Kaminski, our Executive Headteacher, alongside our worship leaders, made sure every child at Tilstock CE Primary School received an Easter egg. A simple gesture, but one filled with joy and meaning 🐣
As a church school, we value opportunities to connect our traditions with the deeper values of the Christian faith. The giving of Easter eggs is a lovely way to reflect themes of hope, renewal and new beginnings, while reminding every child that they are valued, loved and an important part of our school community.
We hope this small act shared not only a treat, but also a message of care and togetherness as we head into the Easter break.

We wish all our families a peaceful and happy Easter break 🌼

Squirrel Class had a fantastic time taking part in a special workshop linked to their History topic, Titanic. Throughout the session, the children built on everything they have learned this term and worked incredibly hard to create a brilliant performance to share with their parents.
They have thoroughly enjoyed their learning this term, and this workshop was a fun and exciting way to bring it all to a close🚢✨👏

At Tilstock, we always aspire to learn more 😊🔬✈️
As part of our Science topic on forces, we were delighted to welcome Sennen’s dad, Mr Busby‑Hicks, into school to share how air resistance and gravity play a vital role in his work at Skydive Tilstock.
He delivered a fascinating talk about the forces acting on people when they skydive from aeroplanes, before showing the children the incredible kit and explaining how the different components work together. The children were captivated and asked some brilliant questions.
We love bringing Science to life by linking learning to real‑world experiences, and it was especially meaningful to make this connection with our local community. A huge thank you to Mr Busby‑Hicks from Skydive Tilstock Freefall Club for taking the time to inspire us.

✨ What an inspiring day at Tilstock ✨
We had the pleasure of welcoming Eric Henderson, who spoke to the children about healthy eating and even demonstrated his impressive bow and arrow used in archery.
Our children also did a fantastic job fundraising, showing real enthusiasm, teamwork and determination. We are incredibly proud of their efforts and the positive attitude they brought to the day.
A huge thank you to all our families for your wonderful support. It truly helps make special days like this possible.

We ended the week with our fantastic Red Nose Day celebration in aid of Comic Relief 2026! Our whole school community came together in such a joyful and creative way.
As well as wearing red, children were invited to donate £1 and decorate their very own ping pong ball. The entries were super creative and certainly brought big smiles to everyone’s faces ❤️😊
Red Nose Day was the perfect opportunity to remind our children about the importance of helping others. It showed them that even the smallest act of kindness can make a big difference to someone’s day. This links beautifully to our value of Joy because bringing a smile to someone else truly has a lasting impact.
Thank you to everyone who took part and supported such a wonderful cause.

🔬🎨📊 Badgers have had a busy and brilliant time learning across the curriculum.
In Science, they began their new unit on electricity, drawing and labelling the parts of an electric circuit before carefully constructing their own. There were squeals of excitement as the bulbs lit up!
In Art, Badgers enjoyed a wonderful afternoon experimenting with colour mixing as part of their seascape project. They are learning to accurately predict the colours they mix, understand where primary and secondary colours sit on the colour wheel, and will use washes and a range of brushes to create different effects in their final pieces.
Every Friday, Maths learning is linked to real life, and the focus recently was mortgages. The children explored what mortgages are and applied their knowledge of addition, multiplication and percentages to solve problems. They even searched for houses in the local area, worked within a budget and calculated how much deposit would be needed.
