What an incredible experience our Year 1 and Year 2 children had on their trip to Jodrell Bank!
From exploring the wonders of space to discovering more about our amazing universe, the children threw themselves into every part of the day. They loved getting hands-on with the interactive activities and were absolutely fascinated by everything they discovered.
What made us particularly proud was seeing their curiosity and enthusiasm for learning. They asked thoughtful questions, shared their ideas and wanted to find out more and more!
These are the experiences that bring learning to life and create memories that stay with our children.
A huge thank you to our wonderful staff and adults who made the visit possible, and a very big well done to Year 1 and Year 2 for representing Tilstock so brilliantly. 🌟

A very proud moment for Tilstock!🏆
We are absolutely delighted to share that Tilstock CE Primary School has won the Edurio ‘Parent Choice’ Award – Primary! 🎉
The Edurio Awards recognise the top 10 schools nationally in each category, based on survey responses from pupils, staff and parents during the 2025/26 academic year.
To receive the Parent Choice Award means so much to us because it reflects the views and experiences of our families.
We are incredibly proud of our wonderful school, our children, our staff and the supportive community that surrounds us.

🌟 Our Open Day Stars! 🌟
Today we welcomed families to Tilstock CE Primary School for our Open Day, and we couldn’t be prouder of our amazing pupil tour guides!
Accompanied by Mrs Kaminski and Mrs Griffiths, our children confidently led visitors around the school, sharing what makes Tilstock such a special place to learn and grow. They spoke about their experiences, explained what they enjoy most about school life, answered questions thoughtfully, and proudly showed off their favourite areas of the school.
What impressed us most was not just what they said, but how they said it. Our pupils were confident, articulate, polite and incredibly well-mannered. They spoke with genuine pride about their school and were wonderful ambassadors for our community.
At Tilstock, we believe education is about so much more than academic success. It is also about helping children develop the life skills they need for the future: confidence, communication, resilience, kindness and the ability to express themselves with clarity and pride.
A huge well done to all of our tour guides today. You represented our school brilliantly, and we are incredibly proud of each and every one of you. 💙⭐

This week, we gathered together at Christ Church, Tilstock for a wonderful Harvest Festival celebration.
Our children shared beautiful songs and thoughtful poems, giving thanks for the harvest and reflecting on the importance of kindness, gratitude and helping others. The service was led by Reverend Sue Armstrong and Executive Headteacher Rowena Kaminski, who helped us celebrate this special time of year with our school community.
A huge thank you to all of the families who donated food items. These generous contributions will be passed on to Whitchurch Foodbank, helping to support local families who may need a little extra help.
We are incredibly proud of our children for the confidence, respect and care they showed throughout the service, and grateful to everyone who joined us to celebrate.

🚴♀️🚴♂️ Year 6 Take on Bikeability! 🚴♂️🚴♀️
Our Year 6 pupils had a fantastic time taking part in their Bikeability training this week, developing valuable cycling skills and growing in confidence on their bikes.
The children first completed Level 1 training in a traffic-free environment, focusing on key skills such as basic bike control, starting and stopping safely, pedalling, negotiating space and using hand signals.
They then progressed to Level 2, where they put their learning into practice out in the village, learning how to deal with simple junctions, road features and basic traffic interactions.
We were especially proud to hear our wonderful Bikeability instructors, Keith and Ruth, comment on how respectful, sensible and hardworking our children were throughout the training. They were excellent ambassadors for Tilstock CE Primary School and represented our school brilliantly within the local community.
A huge well done to all of Year 6 for their enthusiasm, perseverance and maturity. Learning to stay safe on our roads is an important life skill, and we couldn't be prouder of you! 👏⭐

📖🌟 Celebrating a love of poetry! 🌟📖
Poetry plays an important role in developing memory, building empathy and helping children explore rhythm, expression and confidence in speaking.
Earlier this year, many of our pupils took part in our whole-school Poetry By Heart event and were automatically entered into the national Poetry By Heart competition. The standard of performances was exceptional, with children showcasing their confidence, passion and talent for recitation.
While none of our entrants made it to Shakespeare's Globe this year, we are incredibly proud to celebrate our top three performers, who received special certificates of recognition for their outstanding efforts.
